For decades town officials have ignored a duty to care for the environment and assure development does not result in destruction of private and public property.
Every project approved by Town Officials in the Titus Avenue--Willow Creek---Larkspur areas has resulted in increased flooding and destruction of private properties in the Hoffman Rd, Conifer Ln and Spring Valley.
In 2010 the Town Board chose to accept a zoning change application for a commercial apartment project which will add millions of gallons of stormwater runoff to downstream areas. This same project was unanimously rejected by previous administrations and thousands of residents.
Over one thousand residents from all parts of Irondequoit have voiced strong opposition to the project as they again witness Town Leaders placing the value of political contributions over the long established will of the people.
Town Leaders continue to imply that construction of a massive commercial apartment complex is the solution to inadequate stormwater management. The Town Board's project does not comply with zoning codes nor is it in accordance with the Town Comprehensive Plan. Although Town Leaders stated publicly they were not changing the town zoning codes and would not adopt the Master Plan Update, they now realize changes are necessary in order to approve their project.
Officials ignore the negative impacts this project will bring to the entire town by allowing an enormous commercial apartment complex to be crammed into a small neighborhood lot. Such precedent will result in more commercial projects being built in established single family neighborhoods.
For Shame !
