Town Boards have failed to manage stormwater and protect private property. Both Town & Planning Boards have circumvented laws meant to ensure thoughtful and appropriate planning decisions and the preservation of our environment.
Expert State engineers, DEC, County experts, several Town engineers, and many private engineers feel this project will cause major negative impacts to the environment. All feel the project is ill-conceived, unwarranted and must undergo a very extensive examination of Less Intrusive Alternatives. Town Board and Planning Board Members continue to ignore several obvious major negative impacts as they contravene the intent of Environmental Laws, reduce accountability, lessen public involvement in the process, and facilitate development without intense examination of less intrusive alternatives.
Town Officials have falsely proclaimed their Apartment Project will solve the drainage problems.
Review the map and pictures below. Note the two large stormwater streams discharging to the north of Larkspur and the small stream from Willow Creek. Adding millions of gallons of additional stormwater to the already overtaxed swamp on Hoffman Road will result in more flooding and further destruction of private property.

Below are pictures of stormwater discharge from the two large streams into County lands at the north end of Larkspur. The small stream from Willow Creek will add to the quantity and will not solve the drainage and flooding problems in downstream areas. Adding millions of gallons will increase flooding and destruction of the environment.
